Lesson 56 - Reality and LifeI've been told I'm a natural teacher, I am glad and truly grateful that you have stuck with the course so far, and hope that you have gleaned from the knowledge freely given within. This course, however, is going through a re-write, and you've been caught in the middle of the crossfire. Kids - Thanks for coming. I'm glad you gained knowledge from this course. Please stop reading now - the rest of this page applies to adults only. If I could afford to quit my full time job as a satellite engineer, I would have more time to finish the course, and provide a better way for everyone to know the things I do. As such, I have very little time (perhaps 1/2 hour per day) to dedicate to this course. Writing the course was a task. Creating graphics and making supporting html code was also daunting, considering the number of pages - and chances for making coding errors. But then some schlep comes along with an automated bot that puts malware on every friggin page of my site (all 1,974 of them), which I have to find and fix one page at a time. Not complaining - just informing you of the situation. I'm presently working on the second half of it, so it isn't out on the web yet. You can't buy it, beg for it, borrow it, or steal it, because at present it simply doesn't exist. I am certain that when it is finished, it will be the finest, easiest to understand course on electronics in existance. Perhaps if some publisher (or perhaps a benevolant millionaire) were to sponsor me, I could quit my job and have more time to finish the course - and perhaps write other courses. Otherwise - you'll just have to wait until it is done. Sorry about that - but in electronics, as in everything - "Theory is Great - but Reality Wins." There is ONE thing you might be able to do to help out tho..... I'm not asking you to give what you can't. Hey - I put the course on the web for free for a reason - and the reason is because EVERYONE deserves a free education. The reality is that there is no free lunch, and I've got a mortgage and doctor bills and kids to feed, etc. You know how it works. I have to have a job. The more the merrier. I could stop working and finish the course if I were to earn enough from the course to pay my bills. Last month was record breaking, and I made a little over $300 from people clicking on ads. Believe me - that is definately incentive to continue writing. The problem is not desire - but time. My two jobs tend to eat WAY too much of it. And that $300 won't pay my mortgage (and trust me - I don't live in a mansion). So if enough people in the world were to donate - I could simply drop everything else I am doing and continue the course. Please do not get me wrong. I am NOT asking for kids to break out their parent's credit cards. Nor am I asking for little old ladies to cash in their retirements. But I am certain that there are people with means, that believe as I do, that education should be free for the masses. That a person shouldn't have to be rich in order to excel academically. It is THOSE people that I am asking to assist in my quest to build a complete electronics course - followed by other courses in science (chemistry, physics, microbiology). The kid who gains his education for free - may be the one who finds the cure for cancer or aids! Donation links are at the bottom of every page.
